Veterans License Plates
In 2002 NS/NU Command President and WWII Veteran Fred Mombourquette is shown installing the very first Veterans Plate on his vehicle.
In 2002, through the efforts of NS/NU Command, R.C.L., Nova Scotia became Canada’s first province to institute a government issued “Veteran License Plate” in order to recognize the contributions of our Veterans.
Thanks to the efforts of The Royal Canadian Legion and the UN NATO Veterans Association, in November of 2016, the Nova Scotia government unveiled a motorcycle licence plate for veterans.
As of Spring 2017, 12,069 of these unique Veteran license plates proudly travel the roads and highways of Nova Scotia.
Shown at the unveiling of the Veterans Motorcycle plate in the foreground of the photo above is (l-r) Angus Cameron, UN NATO Veterans Association, MLA Geoff MacLellan, NS/NU Royal Canadian Legion President Steve Wessel.
